Decorations
Decorate your bridal shower in colors that were often used in the 1950s to get the look and feel of that era. Use pastel colors such as pink, aqua, peach and yellow as well as striking colors like turquoise, chartreuse and flamingo pink. Food and Drinks

Butter cookies, fruit cups, melon balls and sherbet, ice cream with cherries, chiffon pie and baked Alaska are some dessert ideas. For beverages, guests can drink Tang orange juice, fruit punch, milkshakes, iced tea, coffee, ginger ale and soda -- especially soda in glass bottles if they're available.

Give your guests a bag of hair rollers, a vintage cookbook or a recipe that was popular during the 1950s with all the necessary ingredients. Give away aprons, 50s-themed refrigerator magnets, recipe boxes, cupcakes in pastel colors or cookies shaped like nostalgic items such as jukeboxes, poodle skirts or 1950s-style double-slot toasters and refrigerators. Other giveaways include bags of jelly beans in pastel colors, homemade jam and "Candy Buttons," which are pastel colored candy dots on paper.
