Studying at a vocational school gives you the opportunity to get training to do a specific job. Unlike traditional colleges and universities, a vocational school does not focus on education that includes courses in non-related academics. Generally your training at this type of school is limited to courses needed only for the career you want to go into. Business Schools
There are a variety of business vocational schools in Minnesota offering bachelor's and associates degrees in business management, accounting, finance, business administration and more. Among these schools are DeVry in Minneapolis; University of Phoenix in St. Louis Park; and Minnesota School of Business in Lakeville, Shakopee, Minneapolis, Moorehead and Wake Park. Rasmussen College is another Minneapolis business vocational school with campuses in Eden Prairie, Brooklyn Park and Eagan.
Technical Schools
Minnesota has several technical vocational schools to choose from if you're looking to get a degree in this field. Tech Skills in Bloomington and ITT Tech in Eden Prairie both have programs that focus on computer technology, web development and software applications and programming among other things.
Beauty Schools
Empire Beauty Schools has four campuses serving the state of Minnesota. You can study at the Eden Prairie, St. Paul, Minneapolis or Bloomington campus with programs focusing on cosmetology, aesthetics, nail techniques and theatrical make-up.
Medical Training
There are a variety of Minnesota vocational schools offering degrees and certificates in the medical field. Among them is Anthem College located in Minneapolis and Argosy University in St. Paul. These schools offer certificates, associate's and bachelor's degrees in an array of medical areas including medical laboratory technology, radiation therapy, medical billing and coding, massage therapy and medical assistant.
