Bs Online Herbal Degrees

Everglades University offers online courses in herbology and botany.


For centuries, cultures around the world have used herbs to treat and prevent illness. Today, many people in the U.S. combine the use of herbs and holistic therapies with contemporary medicines and practices. Though many brick and mortar colleges offer a bachelor's degree in herbalism, few offer an online program. Everglades University is one of the few distance learning schools offering a B.S. in alternative medicine, and students enrolled in this program will have access to herbology courses.


Admissions


Students wishing to gain admission into Everglades University's online alternative medicine program should contact the school's admissions office. An admissions coordinator will conduct an interview, answer questions pertaining to the program, and walk you through the online application process. A high school diploma or GED is required of each student. Furthermore, if a student has not taken the SAT or ACT, they must take a critical thinking entrance exam, scoring at least a 40 out of 70.


Courses


Students majoring in alternative medicine will take online courses that include herbology, botany, nutrition, traditional Chinese medicine, detoxification and homeopathy. All courses take place online. Everglades University's online staff and faculty members post assignments and course schedules. Students and teachers interact through email, live chats and scheduled discussions in virtual classrooms. Students earn the same course credits for online courses as those offered on campus.


Financial Aid


Students wishing to major in Everglades University's online alternative medicine program have the option to apply for financial aid. Students should contact the financial aid office for instructions on submit the Free Application for Financial Aid. The university also lists links for alternative loans and scholarships on its financial services webpage. A financial aid administrator can help you obtain funding for the alternative medicine program. Only students who qualify receive aid.
