Radiographers produce black and white images of the body using radiation procedures.
X-ray technicians, commonly referred to as radiographers or radiologic technologists, are applied health care professionals that use ionizing radiation to obtain images of the body for diagnostic purposes. In Oklahoma, a number of colleges and vocational schools offer students the opportunity to earn a certificate, an associate or a bachelor's degree in radiography. All of these programs carry accreditation from the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology (JRCERT), which ensures that graduates will be eligible to sit for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists certification exam.
