Yuba City is located minutes away from the California State Capitol in Sacramento, California and is the main city in the Yuba City Metropolitan Statistical Area. Cambridge Junior College
The only accredited junior college in Sutter County as of 2011, Cambridge is a small institution offering the following programs: medical assisting, medical office reception and an associate degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting. The application process at Cambridge Junior College begins with an interview with admissions personnel. As part of your application, you must present a high school diploma or the GED equivalent, complete an application and submit your financial aid documentation. The school also features a Placement Assistance Program which aids in your employment search.
Brandman University
Brandman University is a branch of the Chapman University System. The Yuba City campus offers bachelor's degrees, master's degrees, graduate certificates and credential programs, both via classroom education and online. Doctoral degrees are solely available through the school's online program. As of the 2010-2011 academic year, the cost of tuition is between $445 and $550 per credit. If you are in the military or are the spouse or dependent of military personnel, you enjoy reduced tuition rates.
Sierra College
Located to the southeast of Yuba City, California, Sierra College's main campus is in the city of Rocklin. You need not have a high school diploma to apply. As of 2011, the cost of tuition is $26 per credit and you can take up to 18 credits per semester. Sierra College offers distance learning as well as in-class courses. Some of the college's sports teams include basketball, golf, soccer, water polo, wrestling and tennis. Sierra features two on-campus residence halls.
Yuba College
Yuba College is located in Marysville, California, to the immediate northeast of Yuba City. Spanning 160 acres, the community college opened its Marysville campus in 1962. The school offers programs in business, technology, fine arts, social sciences and other fields. Yuba College is an accredited two-year institution and features support services for disabled students. Some of its student groups include the chess club, computer club and the Punjabi Students Association. You can participate in softball, basketball or baseball; athletic department scholarships are also available.
