Colleges Located Near Niceville Florida

Students can attend several community colleges and universities near Niceville, Florida.


Students find a variety of colleges in the Florida panhandle city of Niceville. This quaint community is located between the Choctawhatchee Bay and the Eglin Air Force Base. Niceville, Florida, offers abundant green spaces, including the Softball Complex and the Children's Park. The community is also known as the home of the annual Boggy Bayou Mullet Festival. Northwest Florida State College


Northwest Florida State College offers associate's and bachelor's degrees within five minutes of downtown Niceville. University of West Florida--Emerald Coast


The University of West Florida--Emerald Coast confers bachelor's and graduate degrees only 25 minutes southwest of Niceville. Undergraduate students major in accounting, computer science and criminal justice. The Graduate School features graduate programs spanning fields from military history to educational leadership. Students work through the Financial Aid department to apply for aid options like the UWF Foundation Scholarship and the Academic Excellence Scholarship. The Emerald Coast campus features a fitness center, library and computer lab to help students complete their daily tasks.

West Florida Research & Education Center


The West Florida Research & Education Center is a University of Florida campus located 45 minutes west of Niceville. This campus focuses on bachelor's programs in turf management, landscape and nursery horticulture and natural resource conservation. The school also offers a minor in wildlife ecology and conservation. Students also take classes from the Gainesville campus through the distance education lab. Milton Gardens is a large campus garden used by students and faculty for coursework. The University of Florida--Milton Student Club is a student organization that runs plant sales, horticulture education events and other activities outside of the classroom.

Okaloosa Applied Technology Center


The Okaloosa Applied Technology Center, located 20 minutes southwest of Niceville, Florida, focuses on adult vocational courses. This vocational college offers its part-time and full-time diploma programs on weekday evenings to accommodate full-time professionals. Students interested in careers as repair technicians pursue diplomas in marine service technology and automotive services. Okaloosa Applied Technology Center also offers vocational degrees in practical nursing, HVAC technology and medical assisting. The Student Services Center is a central resource for students in need of financial aid help, Internet access and materials for class projects.
