Use Digital Projectors

A digital projector can be a huge upgrade to your multimedia experience--whether at home or in the office. Digital projectors are flexible enough to support an array of audio/video sources--like DVD player, computers and cable boxes--and powerful enough to handle detailed presentation and project high-quality pictures for movies and TV shows. Find out how you can start using your digital projector.

Instructions

As a Television Monitor

1. Connect the digital projector to your cable/satellite box or DVD player with a video cable. If it is a component video cable, match the red, green and blue (RGB) ends of one end of the cable to the RGB ports on the back of the projector. Match the other RGB heads of the cable to the "Component Out" ports on the back of your cable/satellite box or DVD player. Other cables have a single plug at each end which go into the appropriate ports.

2. Connect an RCA audio cable between the projector and your cable/satellite box if it isn't already connected to a receiver. Match the red and white heads of the RCA cable to the red and white ports on both the projector and the audio/video source. Connect the cable to the "Audio Out" port on the audio/video source and to "Audio In" on the back of the projector.

3. Connect the supplied power cable to the power port on the back or side of the projector and plug both the projector and the audio/video source into power outlets. Turn them both on. The projector will warm up, cycle through available audio/video sources and then project them.

As a Computer Monitor

4. Connect the VGA or digital video cable between your digital projector and computer. Plug one end of the cable into the appropriate port on the back of your computer and plug the other end to the port on the back of your projector. Secure a VGA or DVI cable to both ports by screwing on the built-in screws embedded in the ends of the cable.

5. Run a 1/8 inch to 1/8 inch cable from the "Line Out" port on your computer's soundcard and plug the other end of the cable into the "Audio In" port on the back of your projector. You can also use your computer speaker to play sounds from your computer.

6. Connect the power cable to the back or side of your digital projector, and then switch on the power. Give the projector a minute to warm up and locate a audio/video source. When the computer syncs with its source--in this case your computer--it will project and play audio and video from the projector.
