What Does Estroven Do To The Body

Estroven is the brand name of an alternative herbal remedy that many women turn to for relief of menopausal symptoms such as hot flashes, night sweats and mood swings. The product comes in a variety of strength levels that can be used for sleeping, increased energy and as daily supplements. Estroven is an over-the-counter medication available in most pharmacies.


Soy


Estroven contains soy isoflavones that mimic the effects of estrogen; fooling the body into thinking it has more estrogen than it does. The amount of soy in Estroven is not harmful.


Black cohosh


Black cohosh is an herb that has been proven to reduce night sweats and hot flashes.


Calcium


Regular strength Estroven contains 150 milligrams of calcium carbonate, which is only 15 percent of a woman's required daily intake to prevent bone loss.


Herbs


Estroven's proprietary blend of herbs is advertised to have a calming affect on women to reduce irritability. Included in the concoction is date seed extract and magnolia bark extract.


Vitamins


B vitamins such as thiamin, riboflavin and niacin are added to help transform carbohydrates into energy.
