Xray Tech Programs In Colorado

X-ray technicians are essential members of the health care team.


X-ray technicians, also commonly referred to as radiologic technologists, are trained to safely take X-rays of patients. X-rays are important diagnostic images, making X-ray technicians integral members of the health care team. Residents of Colorado have a variety of training opportunities in which to pursue x-ray technician education.


Concorde Career College


Located in Aurora, Concorde Career College offers students a four-semester Associate of Applied Science degree in radiographic technology. The program is comprised of extensive classroom and hands-on training in addition to clinical externships at local hospitals and clinics. Graduates of the program are eligible to take the certification exam offered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT). Financial assistance is available to those who qualify.

Red Rocks Community College


Red Rocks Community College offers a full-time program for aspiring X-ray techs to earn an Associate of Applied Science degree. Each year, 18 to 20 students are accepted to the four-semester program. Classroom work is taught at the community college's campus in Arvada, though clinical instruction is provided at hospitals and clinics in the Denver area that have partnerships with the college. Graduates are eligible to take the exam offered by the ARRT. Financial aid is available to qualified students.

Pima Medical Institute


Pima Medical Institute, located in Denver, offers both an associate and bachelor's degree. The school's Associate of Occupational Science program is intended for students with prior experience in the radiography field. The Bachelor of Science program is intended for students that are currently certified X-ray techs from the ARRT. Both programs are approximately 22 months in length. Financial assistance may be available to qualified students.
