Everest University
Everest University's Radiologic Technology course is an Associate's degree program, and it offers hands-on training in radiologic procedures and processes including X-ray, fluoroscopy and radiological anatomy. You also learn use all the equipment that you need in your field and the appropriate medical terminology. Other coursework includes radiological physics and anatomy, advanced imaging procedures, patient care and safety. The course also gets your ready for the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiologic Technology Certification exam, which you must pass to become a radiologic technologist.
Heritage Education
This school's X-Ray Medical Technician program is a combination course. It trains students in both the X-ray technologist and medical assistant fields. This program teaches the skills needed to work in administrative and clinical settings, including home health, nursing homes, clinics and physician's offices. You receive an Associate's degree upon successful completion of the coursework. Gurnick Academy
The Gurnick Academy of Medical Arts has a Radiologic Technology/X-Ray Program, and this program is available at the school's Concord, California location. This school teaches you all the necessary skills that you need to be a radiologic technician, and it also provides you with the skills to interact with the public. Upon completion of this course, you'll have the skill set needed to become an entry-level technician. Before applying for the program, you must complete all the prerequisite courses and 40 hours of volunteer work or experience in a medical imaging department. You must take the prerequisite courses within five years of applying for the program, and you must receive a "C" grade in all coursework.
Anthem College
Anthem College's X-ray Technician (Limited Scope) program teaches students take electrocardiograms and X-rays. You also take anatomy courses, teaching you about the torso-skeletal system, spine and skull, and you learn about proper laboratory procedures. Teachers teach you collect blood, give injections and perform venipuncture. You must take an externship once you complete your coursework. You receive an Associate of Applied Science degree upon completion of the program.
