Also referred to as radiographers or radiologic technologists, X-ray technicians are highly trained allied health professionals who take detailed images of bodily tissues, organs and bones for medical diagnosis and treatment. According to the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT), there are currently 10 accredited schools in Washington that offer training in X-ray technology. Graduates are prepared to sit the ARRT's national certification examination.
