Students can receive echocardiogram training through an online format.
Cardiac sonographers or echocardiographers take ultra sounds of the heart (echocardiograms). To obtain the skills required to perform these diagnostic procedures, individuals must complete training specific to the procedures. Cardiac sonography is a specialty in the Medical Diagnostic Sonography field. The training is through an associate program, certificate program or as part of a bachelor’s program for Medical Diagnostic Sonography. Online programs are available in which the student receives didactic instruction online and performs clinical rotation at nearby facilities.
