Schools For Forensic Photography

Forensic photographers take photos in laboratories and the field.

Forensic photographers work as an integral part of the law enforcement team, taking field and laboratory photographs to determine the facts of a crime or accident. College programs give a rounded training in forensic photography that shows students execute photography, analyze data and report their findings. After developing their skills with college courses, students can earn marketable credentials by participating in training and certification from forensic photography trade organizations.

Barry University

Barry University offers a Bachelor of Art in biomedical and forensic photography that includes 65 credit hours of courses in criminology, human anatomy, biology, photography, computer imaging and lighting techniques. The program includes a six-month internship at the Miami-Dade County medical examiner's office, where the student will get hands-on experience taking forensic photographs and preparing evidence. The degree program focuses on photography and trains students in digital and traditional mediums with seven-day-a-week access to photography facilities and laboratories. Founded in 1940, the school has more than 6,500 students enrolled.
