Heal An Open Sore Inside Of The Mouth

Black tea contains tannins, which help to relieve open sores.

An open sore inside of your mouth is most likely the result of a burst canker sore. Canker sores can appear during times of stress or hormone imbalance. They can also appear due to the sodium lauryl sulfate in your toothpaste or mouthwash. Because open sores can be a big source of pain and irritation, it's important to heal it quickly. There are a few methods that can be tried at home to get rid of the sore.

Instructions

1. Brush your teeth with a toothpaste that doesn't contain sodium lauryl sulfate two or three times a day.

2. Rinse your mouth with mouthwash that doesn't contain sodium lauryl sulfate a few times a day.

3. Look for an ointment at drugstores that contains benzocaine, menthol, and/or eucalyptol. Put the ointment on the sore according to the ointment's directions.

4. Wet a black tea bag with water, and place the wet tea bag onto the sore several times a day. The tannins from the tea will help ease the pain of the open sore.
