The Technical College System of Georgia offers programs in the area of medical billing and coding at 19 campuses across the state. Programs are typically 27 to 36 credit hours and include courses such as Anatomy and Physiology, Medical Terminology, Document Processing, Coding/Billing/Insurance, Legal Aspects of the Medical Office, Basic English, Basic Mathematics and Human Diseases. Successful completion of such a program results in a Technical Certificate of Completion.
Atlanta and North Georgia
Students interested in a Medical Coding Certificate can choose from three programs in the Metro Atlanta area: Atlanta in the center, Griffin to the south and Oakwood to the north. The Blairsville and Clarksville campuses of North Georgia Technical College offer programs to prospective students in the North Georgia mountains.
