Requirements for Johns Hopkins Medical School
Johns Hopkins University, in Baltimore, Maryland, offers both undergraduate and graduate degrees in many disciplines, but it is world-renowned in the sciences. The National Science Foundation has ranked it the number one school in science, medical, and engineering research and development for the past 31 years. The university's medical school is very well respected worldwide.
Undergraduate Degree
In order to be accepted to the medical school, you must have attended an accredited college or university and gotten a degree. If you apply to the medical school before you graduate, you must successfully complete your undergraduate degree.
Prerequisites
Johns Hopkins medical school requires at least one year of calculus or statistics, one year of general chemistry and one year of organic chemistry, one year of biology, a year of physics and at least 24 credit hours of of humanities or social sciences. Social sciences include economics, political science, foreign languages and history.
Required Exam
You must complete the Medical College Admissions Test (MCAT) for acceptance. You need to take it by the end of September of the year the application is submitted.
Recommendation
You must have a letter of recommendation from the premedical committee where you went to college. If you do not have a premedical adviser or committee, you must have two letters of recommendation from two members of the science department who taught you and one from a department other than science.

Fill out the online American Medical College Application, which must be received by Oct. 15 of the year that you are applying. The link can be found in the Resources section.
Secondary Application
Complete the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine Secondary Application. The deadline is Dec. 1 for the regular M.D. application, while the deadline for the dual M.D.-Ph.D. is Nov. 15.
