Professional Development Grants for Women
Professional Development Grants for Women can help women get their careers moving.
Ohio State University offers the Professional Development Grants for Women to "facilitate professional development and career mobility of women," according to the school. Full-time undergraduate and graduate students, as well as university employees who have been working for the school for a year or more, are eligible to apply for a $1,000 grant. The awards may be used for research, childcare to allow the recipient to attend school, attending and preparing for a conference or workshop, preparing materials for publication, and other expenses related to professional development. Criteria for receiving the grant include financial need, the grant's impact on the recipient's professional development, and grades if you are a student.

The Ohio Military Injury Relief Fund Grants
Injured servicemen and women can apply for Ohio Military Injury Relief Fund Grants.
To help its servicemen and women, the Ohio Military Injury Relief Fund provides grants of varying size to assist injured vets. Recipients of the grant must have served in Operation Enduring Freedom or Operation Iraqi Freedom and have suffered a physical injury or be diagnosed with post-traumatic stress disorder as a result of their service. Applicants must provide proof of Ohio residency in addition to proof of service, such as an earnings statement, and if they are no longer in the military, a copy of their Report of Separation. Also, the grant requires a copy of Temporary Duty orders for reserve and National Guard members applying for the grant, and all applicants must furnish proof of injury in the form of documents detailing their ailment.

Ohio College Opportunity Grant
The Ohio College Opportunity Grant helps students pay for their education.
To help students meet their educational goals, the Ohio College Opportunity Grant provides funding for those working toward an associate or bachelor's degree as well as a nursing program diploma. To qualify for the grant, students must file a free application for federal student aid, or FAFSA, have an expected family contribution of less than $2,190 and a family income which does not exceed $75,000 a year. Students must also attend a qualifying school in Ohio or an approved school in Pennsylvania. The grants are renewable and amounts vary according to applicant's FAFSA results and the cost of the school they wish to attend.
