X-ray technicians operate basic equipment that produces images from within the body. These images assist doctors in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. Career Care Institute


The Career Care Institute is located in Lancaster, California, just outside of Los Angeles. CCI offers a fully accredited limited-scope X-ray technician program that consists of three modules. Graduates are prepared for a career as an X-ray technician and to take the national and state certifications. Coursework includes medical terminology, radiation protection and safety, radiological physics and digital imaging. This is a 768-hour program, and graduates are awarded a certificate of completion.

Ultimate Medical Academy


Ultimate Medical Academy is a private institution with locations in Clearwater and Tampa, Florida. UMA's X-ray technician program is approved by the Accrediting Bureau of Health Education Schools. Students participate in classroom lectures, lab practice modules and, later in the program, an internship at a health care facility. Classes include patient care and management, equipment operation and maintenance, positioning and procedures, and radiation safety. Graduates are awarded a diploma and become eligible to take the Limited Scope of Practice in Radiography certification exam to become licensed.
