Future radiologic technologists have access to scholarships to go to school for radiology.
Radiology educational and training programs lead aspiring radiologic technologists to receive a radiologic sciences certificate, associate's degree or bachelor's degree. The United States Bureau of Labor Statistics estimates an increase of 17 percent in job growth in radiology careers from the year 2008 to 2018. The increase in job growth is higher than average and this makes the radiologic technology field an exciting career path to pursue.
American Society of Radiologic Technologist Scholarships
The American Society of Radiologic Technologists offers four radiologic technology scholarships. The first radiologic technology scholarship is the Jerman-Cahoon Student Scholarship, which offers five students pursuing the radiology field $2,500 in scholarship funds. The second scholarship is the Professional Advancement Scholarship Program that awards ten $1,500 scholarships annually to students completing an undergraduate or graduate degree. The third radiology scholarship award is the Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarship that offers $4,000 in scholarship funds annually to five minority radiology students enrolled in undergraduate programs. The last scholarship is the Howard S. Stern Scholarship that awards $1,000 in scholarship funds to students enrolled in undergraduate or graduate degree programs.
