Information technology (IT) focuses on the management of technology within a variety of computer-related areas, including computer software and hardware, information systems, programming languages and databases. Students are able to pursue two-year associate-degree programs that combine general educational requirements and core IT courses. Prerequisites
A two-year associate degree program requires students pursuing education and training in information technology to have a high school diploma or general education diploma (GED). While it may not be required, it may be beneficial for students to have experience with computer systems technology, computer applications and computer software and hardware.
