Use Massage Techniques For Plantar Fasciitis

Use Massage Techniques for Plantar Fasciitis

Plantar fasciitis is a painful condition that affects the feet. The plantar fascia is a tendon that runs along the arch of the foot and attaches to the heel bone. When it becomes inflamed, it causes pain and can make it difficult to walk. However, massage techniques can relieve the pain of plantar fasciitis.

Instructions

1. Grasp your foot by placing one hand on each side of it. Your thumbs should be on the sole of your foot.

2. Locate the area of inflammation. You can do this by using your fingers to feel around the area directly above your heel.

3. Massage that area, using as much pressure as you can stand. Plantar fasciitis is a painful condition, but if you can stand a lot of pressure as you massage the area, you will stimulate healing.

4. Hold your toes with one hand and hold the bottom of your foot with the other. Bend your toes toward you and stretch out your foot.

5. Purchase a golf ball or a foot massager. Place the item on the floor and roll your foot over it. Do this several times every day; several short sessions are usually easier to take than 1 long session. Do this in addition to or in place of hand massage. Use both and see which one works better for you.
