Radiologic Technology Scholarships

Radiologic technologists specialize in generating medical images, such as mammograms, CT scans, ultrasounds and MRIs. Radiologic technicians often can land jobs after completing associate's degree or certificate programs, but many are eager to further their prospects by continuing their education. Many institutions offer scholarships targeted at radiologic technologist students.


Amersham Management Scholarship Program


This scholarship is only available to members of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists (ASRT). Applicants must intend to complete a master's degree or higher in some sector of health care management. The successful applicant will have worked in the radiologic field for a minimum of one of the past five years. High school students and non-United States citizens are not considered. Two scholarships of at least $5,000 are awarded annually. The deadline to apply is February 1 each year.


Jerman-Cahoon Student Scholarship


This scholarship is available for undergraduate students who have finished at least one semester of a radiological sciences program. High school students and non-United States citizens are not considered. The successful applicant must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and submit a 450- to 500-word essay. Three scholarships of at least $2,500 each are awarded annually. The deadline to apply is February 1 each year.


Royce Osborn Minority Student Scholarship


This scholarship is intended for minority undergraduate students. The successful applicant will have completed at least one semester with a focus on radiologic sciences. The recipient must maintain a 3.0 grade point average and will be required to write a 450- to 500-word essay. High school students and non-United States citizens are not considered. The following races are eligible to apply for this award: Native American, Eskimo, Asian, African-American and Hispanic. Five awards are granted each year, for a minimum of $4,000. The deadline to apply is February 1 each year.


Siemens Scholar Award


This scholarship is only available for ASRT members who are enrolled in undergraduate or graduate programs. The successful candidate will have worked in the radiologic sciences industry for at least one of the past five years. High school students and non-United States citizens are not considered. At least one scholarship is awarded each year for a minimum of $3,000. The deadline to apply is February 1 of each year.
