Thunderbird Bowl
Have a bowling party by renting a few lanes at Thunderbird Bowl (2440 S. Oliver; (316) 684-5291). The crew at Thunderbird Bowl has three different party plans, but all plans include 90 minutes of bowling for all guests. Shoe rental and soda is also included. You bring your own cake, but the bowling alley provides the food based on your selection. These parties are available on Saturdays only.
Exploration Place
Exploration Place (300 N. McLean Blvd.; (316) 660-0600) is a hands-on science museum in Wichita that offers party plans for museum guests. All permanent exhibits in the museum are included in the party packs, and you can add additional exhibits to the party plan, such as the Cyberdome Theater or one of the traveling exhibits. Party packages include a cake, drinks, a guest book, tableware and a gift for the birthday girl or boy.
Old Cowtown
Old Cowtown (1865 Museum Blvd.; (316) 219-1871) takes you back in time to explore Wichita as it was in the 1870s. You can rent the entire museum or one of several buildings inside the complex, including the Turnverein Hall, Chuckwagon Café or the Fritz Snitzler's Saloon. Kids will enjoy interacting with the staff who act out life as it was in the 1870s.
Laser Quest
Older children will have a blast at Wichita's Laser Quest (2120 N. Woodlawn; (316) 652-9500). Every guest at a Laser Quest birthday party receives two games of laser tag, and the party itself is held in a private party room. Bring your own food or order from a local pizza vendor that partners with Laser Quest. Guests leave with a ticket for one free future game of laser tag.
Pump It Up
Wichita's Pump It Up Inflatable Party Zone (11110 East 26th St. N.; (316) 680-1138) is a great party venue for active kids. At Pump It Up, kids can jump, climb and slide on inflatable play structures in a secure environment. You can reserve the facility for up to two hours. Once your time on the play structures is over, guests are taken to a private party room where you can feed them pizza, soda and cake. Adults play free during the party.
Kiwanis Park
Kiwanis Park (5101 W. Second St. N.; (316) 337-9225) has an enclosed shelter with a full kitchen that is ideal for birthday parties. The park provides entertainment for the kids with its large children's playground. Other amenities include outdoor picnic facilities, a sports court, soccer field and softball diamond.
