Troubleshoot A Panasonic Ct27d11e

Electrical appliances, lights, cars and machinery with motors can cause interference.

Panasonic's 27-inch CT-27D11E television is a cathode ray tube-type. It's an older technology and more bulky than today's plasma and LCD technology devices. This television model does not have a digital receiver, so you will need to hook up a source like a decoder or cable box, for example, to see images. There is also no HDMI--high definition multimedia interface--connection, so S-video and regular AV cables are required. Troubleshooting the CT-27D11E can be accomplished by following a few steps.

Instructions

1. Adjust the antenna location if you are using a digital decoder and receiving broadcasts via airwaves. The television won't work with an antenna plugged directly into the jack on the back; you will need to add a decoder inline. Alternatively, add a DVD player as a source to test the television.

2. Press the "Channel Up" or "Down" button if there's no picture on the screen and no audio. Press the button a few times to surf through the possible options including sources, such as a DVD player.

3. Move the television away from potential sources of interference if you hear noisy audio and see lines on the screen. Electrical appliances, lights, cars and machinery with motors can cause interference. Simply unplug suspect items and see if you can eliminate the issue. Once you've figured out where the problem is, move the television farther from the offending device.

4. Press the "Mute" button on the CT-27D11E's remote control if there's no audio but normal video. Look for a Mute designation on the screen. If pressing the button fails to create the Mute designation, replace the batteries in the remote control.
