Several schools in Georgia offer programs for students wanting to become radiologic technicians.
Many technical schools and universities in Georgia offer certificates, associate degrees and bachelor's degrees in radiologic technology. Radiologic techs are also known as radiographers, x-ray techs, rad techs and radiologic assistants. They can advance to specialization in computed tomography (CT), magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), diagnostic medical sonography (ultrasound), radiation therapy and nuclear medicine.
Albany Technical College
Albany Technical College offers a diploma and an Associate in Applied Science in Radiologic Technology. The college says its 24- to 30-month program emphasizes didactic and clinical instruction. Graduates can find work in hospitals, medical laboratories, Veterans Administration hospitals, doctors' offices and clinics. The school also offers certificate programs in mammography and CT.

Emory University School of Medicine -- Atlanta
Emory University School of Medicine in Atlanta offers a Bachelor of Medical Science degree in Medical Imaging. Graduates of the 33-month program can specialize in CT, MRI or leadership skills in management or education. Fewer colleges offer accredited bachelor's degree in radiography than associate degrees or certificates, according to the Joint Review Committee on Education in Radiologic Technology.
