Instructions For Using A Fluke 62 Mini Infrared Thermometer

The Fluke 62 Mini Infrared Thermometer is a tool targeting construction workers, engineers or emergency personnel. This infrared thermometer can be used to accurately read the temperature of an object or surface from a safe distance, allowing you to get the information that you need for a project without putting you in harm's way. This tool sports a gun-like design featuring a trigger for easier use and an LCD screen to display temperature data.

Instructions

1. Remove the front part of the thermometer's handle with a screwdriver to access the battery compartment. Insert a 9-volt battery into the compartment and attach the connector to the top. Replace the battery cover before operating the device. The battery indicator on the LCD screen will reveals how much battery life remains.

2. Point the device at a surface to measure the temperature. While aiming the device, pull the trigger to turn it on and start a temperature scan. When the device isn't used, it goes into "hold" mode as long as the trigger is not pressed. Make sure the trigger is not pressed when storing the device to conserve battery power.

3. Pressing the trigger activates a laser on the thermometer that projects a circle. This circle indicates the area that the thermometer is measuring. You will see the average temperature of the area appear in large numbers in the middle of the LCD screen. Below this reading will be another reading indicating the maximum temperature recorded in the area you are measuring. For a more precise measurement, move as close as you can to the surface.

4. Keeping the trigger pressed will allow you to move the circle along a surface to see what the temperature is in different spaces. Letting go of the trigger resets its "High" function. Move the temperature switch below the trigger to alternate between Celsius and Fahrenheit scales.
