Diagnostic medical ultrasound, also called sonography, is a frequently used medical procedure that uses ultrasonic waves to create computerized images of the human body. Diagnostic medical sonography is employed by medical professionals to diagnose and treat a wide range of physical disorders and injuries. There are eight postsecondary schools in Pennsylvania that offer training in diagnostic medical sonography.
