Halloween Quick Costume Ideas for Adults
Most people have experienced the distress of needing a last-minute costume idea and some may opt to go with a make-shift ghost costume or simply wear a T-shirt that reads "This is my costume." However, there are many quick Halloween costumes ideas that you can assemble in a moment's notice. These costumes require little effort, but still come across as though you thought long and hard about it.
Shaun
The 2004 hit "Shaun of the Dead" chronicles Shaun's attempts to win back his ex in the midst of a zombie invasion. The hero of the film wears a short-sleeved white dress shirt, black pants and a red tie. For authenticity, add some fake blood patches to the white shirt. Shaun carries a cricket bat with him, though many people don't have access to one. If you can't find a cricket bat, carry around some old records instead.
College Student
A college student costume is simple and easy to pull together. You'll need a sweatshirt, any pants, school books and a backpack. If you can find a sweatshirt featuring your alma mater or bearing the logo of any college, this will help complete the look. Many times, college students look rather frazzled and disheveled thanks to large course loads, so pretending to be out of sorts helps.
Lady Gaga
Lady Gaga broke into mainstream popularity with her hit "Just Dance" and continues to take the music world by storm. Almost as well known as her music are her crazy outfits. To dress as Lady Gaga, there are basically no limits; anything wacky, off the wall and extravagant can be interpreted as a Gaga-esque ensemble. For example, Lady Gaga is known for her anti-pants stance, so take a black leotard or swimsuit, pair it with stockings, then add a pair of heels to complete the look. To recreate her appearance, put on a straight blonde wig with bangs, plus plenty of makeup. Gaga occasionally wears a lightning bolt on the side of her face.
Murderer/Murder Victim
For those that are truly pressed for time, putting together a murderer or murder victim costume works well. For this costume, all that is really needed is a lot of fake blood and a murder weapon. For a more humorous twist, choose an abstract item as a murder weapon, such as a Rubik's cube or aerosol spray can. Murder victims can be portrayed as zombie-like with lots of fake blood.
Charlie Brown as a Ghost
In the classic Halloween special "It's the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown," the Peanuts gang dons costumes to go trick-or-treating through their neighborhood. Charlie Brown attempts to have a ghost costume, but somehow managed to cut far too many eye holes. Charlie Brown's ghost costume is quick and simple to recreate. Take an old sheet and a black permanent marker. Use the marker to draw several holes along the sheet. Alternately, you can cut out circles from black construction paper or fabric and attach them to the sheet. Complete the look with a plastic bag for candy containing nothing but a rock.
