Puppets are a great way to entertain the children if you are a babysitter, mom or dad. Communicating is key in your child's life and is a part of learning. Why not read them books with sock puppets. Or even more fun is teaching them new words with sock puppets.
Instructions
1. A few things you are going to need is cut outs or print outs of the arms, beak / nose, feet, etc. You will also need a hot glue gun, super glue, beads for eyes, and felt pens.
2. Find a goose beak pattern or other, wing or feet on the Internet for the Sock puppet and print it out. It can be anything like a nose, eyes, whatever you would like! You can also make your own pattern with color pencils or colored pens which would stand out more. Remember, the brighter the colors - the better.
3. Glue the beak or its nose at the very top of the sock. Use a glue gun or you are welcome to sew it in too.
4. Cut off the very bottom of the sock (not the top where the beak or nose should be). Make sure to cut it about 3 inches so the puppet won't really look like a sock puppet.
5. Unless your puppet is a snake, add the arms, wings, and legs that you cut out or printed with super glue or a glue gun. You can glue them to the bottom of the sock where your hand is supposed to enter.
Don't forget to draw your nostrils or eyes in. Ta-da! Now you have made your first puppet!
