The Best Ultrasound Schools

An ultrasound provides the first image a mother has of her unborn child.

Ultrasounds are part of many patients' hospital experiences. They are the first way that a mother can see her unborn child, and they can be used for early detection of many health problems. Because ultrasounds require the latest technology, an ultrasound technician, or sonographer, must be well-educated and able to adapt to a quickly changing work environment. This list of the top ultrasound schools includes only those schools that have met the standards of the Commission on Accreditation of Allied Health Education Programs to ensure that they provide quality ultrasound education.

Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences

Kaiser Permanente School of Allied Health Sciences offers a Diagnostic Medical Sonography Program to teach students the methods and practices of ultrasound technicians. Featuring both in-class and hands-on lessons, this 18-month program prepares students for a career in an entry-level position as an ultrasound technician or a sonographer. Students will be able to interpret the ultrasound image that they take from patients and offer medical advice based on this image.
