Illinois Ultrasound Schools

Sonographers can earn significant incomes after just 2 years or less of training.

Becoming a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer (DMS), also knows as Ultrasound Technician, is a rigorous process. Sonographer programs in Illinois have limited enrollment, therefore creating a highly competitive application process. As a Diagnostic Medical Sonographer you can earn a high salary after just two years of education.

Northwestern Memorial Hospital

Northwestern Memorial Hospital's School of Diagnostic Medical Sonography is 18 months long. You must attend the program five days a week, Monday to Friday, for 40 hours. Clinicals and rotations take place in local ultrasound departments. The program begins every year in July. You are expected to attend class and be on time regularly, but are allowed 120 hours of personal time off during your course work. Some college prerequisites are required for entry into the ultrasound program.
