Find a doctor online with Medicare's healthcare provider directory.
Medicare is a health insurance program funded by the U.S. government. Medicare grants medical benefits to citizens who are 65 years or older, or younger than 65 with specific disabilities. People of any age who are diagnosed with end-stage renal disease also may receive Medicare medical benefits.
Basics
Medicare is divided into four programs. Each program covers a different aspect of health care, from hospital services to prescription coverage. Under Medicare Part B, beneficiaries are entitled to insurance that covers outpatient expenses like preventive care and doctor fees.

Medicare.gov maintains a searchable database of Medicare health providers. This online tool allows users to find a provider based on specialty and location. It also gives you the option of searching by gender, name and whether the provider charges the Medicare-approved amount for service.
Function
Medicare.gov's health care provider directory grants the ability to search for and compare numerous Medicare physicians in one place. After conducting a search, users can access information including the provider's name, contact information and spoken language.
