Health Care Job Fair Ideas

When it comes time to enter the world of work, many venture to job fairs. At health care job fairs, candidates often have the opportunity to interview for an array of jobs and network with those in the industry. By adding interactive elements to your job fair, and putting effort into making the fair useful for both candidates and employers, you can set your event apart from the rest.

Job Match-up Quiz

At many health care job fairs, candidates can interview for an array of careers. Make it easier for your job-seekers to decide which jobs they should look into by creating a job match-up quiz. To prepare this quiz, gather information on which jobs will be available at your fair. Compose a quiz in which job-seekers are asked about credentials, desired work location and other factors. At the end of the quiz, guide candidates to jobs for which they may be qualified based on the answers they gave to the quiz questions.

"Day in the Life" Videos

Allow visitors to your fair to see what it really means to work in the health care industry. In preparation for your fair, spend time recording footage of different health care workers on the job. Edit this footage, creating "Day in the Life" videos featuring different health care jobs. Set up a TV or laptop on which you can show these videos during your fair.

Job Fair Trinkets

Keep your job fair on the minds of job candidates as well as employers long after the event by handing out trinkets featuring the name and logo of your fair. Have stress balls, pens and even T-shirts printed with this information. Hand them out to all who attend to increase the likelihood those who visited the event remember it and visit again next time you offer the fair.

Practice Interview Booths

While many candidates come to job fairs to actually interview for positions, others are just eager to get their feet wet. Allow those less experienced with the job interview process to begin to build their interview skills by setting up a practice interview booth. Give candidates who simply want to practice their skills the chance to sign up for practice interview sessions, at the end of which they will be critiqued on their performance and given suggestions for future interviews.
