Replace the Water Filter in a KitchenAid Superba Refrigerator
The KitchenAid Superba refrigerator has crisper drawers, adjustable shelves, a wine rack, a covered utility bin, an ice maker and a water filtration system, among other features. You'll need to replace the Superba's water filter on an occasional basis to help ensure the quality and purity of the water dispensed by the refrigerator. You can purchase replacement filters online or through KitchenAid; it should take just a few minutes to switch one out.
Instructions
1. Find the water filter cartridge cap, which is positioned in the front base grille and looks like a small dial. Place a towel underneath the filter area to catch any water that may drip.
2. Turn the cap counterclockwise until the cap handle is vertical. Pull gently to remove the filter cartridge.
3. Slide the cartridge cap off the old filter and set it aside. Remove the new filter from the packaging and take the cover off the filter.
4. Place the cartridge cap on the new filter and position the cap so that it is vertical. Push the new filter into the hole inside the base grille.
5. Turn the cap clockwise once the filter is completely pushed into the grille.
6. Place a container under the water dispenser and push down on the dispenser. Fill at least 2 to 3 gallons of water, discarding them to remove any impurities that may be present in the filter.
