Glacier Bay Faucet Repair Parts

Glacier Bay faucets are sold at some large retail home improvement stores, but the faucets themselves are produced by different manufacturers, which means you won't find an online resource for your Glacier Bay faucet. However, if you are seeking repair parts or just want to know which parts are used to repair a Glacier Bay faucet, rest easy. They are the same parts used on most faucets today.

Cartridges

The faucet cartridge, or faucet stem as it is also called, is the most common repair part for any faucet, including the Glacier Bay line. It fits inside the handle and is a cylinder made of plastic with valves for hot and cold water. When the handle turns, it moves the valves to open or closed, depending on which direction the handle turns, allowing water from the hot, cold or both sides to exit the spout. These repair parts are available through faucet part retailers online or at some hardware stores and plumber supply shops.

Aerators

An aerator is a common enough part for the Glacier Bay. This is a cap with a mesh screen that screws onto the end of the faucet's spout. Very easy to replace, you simply unscrew the part carefully from the end of the spout and screw in a new one. You will find these parts at hardware stores, faucet supply outlets and home improvement stores. The place where you purchased the faucet will probably have one of these available for purchase.

Handles and Escutcheons

The handle is the part that operates the faucet, and it is also available through plumbing supply and faucet parts outlets. If your handle breaks or becomes overly corroded, it can be replaced. The escutcheon is the base plate of the faucet and fits underneath the spout on most Glacier Bay models. If your sink has a backsplash, as most kitchen sinks do, your faucet may not have an escutcheon. Instead, the sink acts as the base plate. Most bathroom faucets by Glacier Bay do have an escutcheon, and replacements are a little more difficult to find. The plumbing supply store is the best option for this repair part.
