Yamaha Warrior Engine Specs

TThe Yamaha Road Star Warrior rolled out in 2002 and featured an engine derived from the earlier Road Star model. It won five times in the AMA ProStar Hotrod Cruiser Class Drag Racing Championship. The Warrior's engine and overall design remained relatively the same from 2002 to 2009 in the U.S., with only minor changes every year. The 2010 model was not offered for sale in the U.S.


Road Star Warrior Engine Specifications


The Yamaha Road Star Warrior engine was also known as the XV1700PC. It featured a 1.67-liter, air-cooled, pushrod, 48-degree, V-twin engine with an overhead valvetrain (OHV). All models had a bore and stroke of 3.82 inches and 4.45 inches respectively and used a final belt drive. Its compression ratio was 8.3 to 1, except for the 2008 and 2009 versions, which were 8.36 to 1.


Fuel was delivered via a twin-bore fuel injection system, which also contained a position sensor on the throttle. The 2002 model featured a digital capacitive discharge (CDI), while all other models used a digital transistor-controlled ignition (TCI). All models also used a five-speed transmission and had a fuel capacity around 15.14 liters (4 gallons) throughout production.


Dimensions


The 2002 to 2004 models were 93.9 inches long, 37.6 inches wide, and 44.1 inches high. The 2005 to 2006 models were slightly lower and leaner, being 43.9 inches high and 36.8 inches wide. The 2007 up to current models were as high as the 2002 models, but as lean as the 2005 models. All models used 120/70-ZR18 radial front tires and 200/50-ZR17 radial rear tires. The 2002 to 2006 models weighed 606 pounds, while the newer models introduced in 2007 weighed 613 pounds.


Color Schemes and Current Pricing


The Warrior was available in a variety of metallic colors. It was initially available in metallic titanium, imperial red, and indigo. Starting 2004, additional colors included cerulean silver with flames, and in 2006 an onyx painting was offered on the Midnight Warrior edition. In 2009, a liquid silver Warrior was also released. The 2010 model of the Yamaha Warrior was offered in Canada for CDN $19,060 (USD $18,804 as of December 2010).
